Don't know about Chris, but I get a ton of mailers from Alberoni in LA. I'll send you a few of them if you want.

I remember a greater public outrage over the Exxon Valdez. Probably because we had a name and a face to villify. We all pictured a drunk captain with a bottle of rum in one hand, while wildly spinning the steering wheel with the other.
The face of BP is distinguished looking British guy, with a calming reassuring voice. Their commercial promises that everything will be allright.
They show scenes of happy people just waiting by the shores of the Gulf to clean it up. They never actually show any tainted beaches in the commercial.
Bobbin's story about the businesses that can't verify their income for proper re-imbursement is another angle of this mess that most of us hadn't thought of. I'm sorry for those people, but that IS a risk that you run when you aren't straight with Uncle Sam.
BP continues to promise that the leak will be plugged. But as days turn into weeks, and weeks turn into months, I think their plan is simply to wait for it to run dry.

Some oil has washed ashore in the Florida panhandle, as well as Alabama.
But one good hurricane is all we need to make it all look the same throughout the Gulf. How can BP possibly have enough money to pay for all of this?

I know y'all think I'm a nut job about this machine, but after using that Kenmore zig zag for all my upholstery stuff, I'm in heaven with that Consew!!

Hey, we've ALL had that "warm fuzzy feeling" a time or two.

thesaurus.com provides no search results for the word. C'mon "North", you're alienating the females of this forum, as well as us men who value their contributions to it.
Please change it, so we can get back to something more interesting (such as old Singers).

Pretty slick! Glad the saw is working out. On real dense foam, you probably won't need too much silicone ( at least as long as the blade doesn't get dull ).
Your pics on photobucket are first rate.
From the photos of the jig, it looks like you are making short strokes. Right?

bozo, cuckoo, fathead, goof, goofball, jackass, zany, goose
fool, muggins, saphead, tomfool, sap - a person who lacks good judgment
Man, I'm all of those. No wonder the word flew right over my head!
Bobbin: I hope you didn't mis-interpret my meaning. If that word WAS meant in a vulgar way, it has no place here.
This forum would suffer tremendously without the ladies.

Over the years, I acquired a few old machines. I tinkered with them, got 'em running OK. But, when it came down to spending $100 or more for parts, I always lost interest. Still, if I stumbled up on my Grandmother's old 16-188, I'd probably buy it.
I've always wondered why there wasn't more interest among collectors for fully restored older machines.
Maybe we ought to start up a cable show called "Pimp My Stitcher"
Bobbin & Cheryl: Sorry it was left up to you gals to point out the online name. Probably like most of the guys on this forum, the offensiveness flew right over my head.

How about some type of bottle opener? You would pull the chain to cinch it tight around a bottle cap, and then yank upward to pull cap off.

Maybe use real guns and they have to hit a target like those people in the Olympics who ski and then have to stop and shoot targets.
You guys may already know this, but I just recently learned the origin of that olympic event.
In WW2, Alpine skiers would ski down a hill, fire at the Germans, and then quickly ski away.

Their shop is about 4 miles down the road and they've been in business for as long as I can remember - at least 25 years.  I've never used their services or knew anyone who did, but I have to say I'm shocked! Tape???!!! You gotta be kidding...

June
I wonder if they only do low budget jobs for re-sale stores? Kinda looked liked they had a pretty big operation in the video. If I had been him, I think I would've wore a pair of those glasses with the built-in fake moustache.

Remember the game called "Barrel of Monkeys", where you would try to pick up as many plastic monkeys as you could by hooking them together? As a kid growing up in an upholstery shop, I would play that game using hog rings.

Or you could play "Running with the scissors", or "Catch a staple between your teeth"............or maybe not.

Pocket watch protecter, maybe? You could still see the time through the holes.
Either that, or a prop from a Harry Potter movie.
