Just testing after upgrade. Please ignore.
Hi Folks
I'm preparing to sell Upholster Magazine and Vista Uph Enterprises. Time to retire! Online since 1996 and I think I added the Discussion Board the next year.
A big thanks to all you regulars that formed your own community here and helped so many newbies.
I started working for an uncle Jan. 1969 in his shop and on and off for some years until I opened my own in 1976. Up until the internet upholsterers were a pretty isolated bunch. If you wanted to know what was going on "out there" you had to pry the info out of a supplies or fabric salesman.
I think it's pretty therapeutic to share about the stresses etc. of being self-employed especially when you laugh about it with you follow upholsterers.
VUE would be a great add on business or for someone who wants to work from home in their jammies. Also good for an uph supplier that carries more stuff than I do.
Here's more details:

Hi Folks
I could use your help. Upholster Mag's Google ranking has dropped considerably since Google changed it's alogarithms (the way they determine relevancy) a few months ago. This is for the keyword "upholstery". Upholster etc does ok.
If any of you who have blogs, forums or upholstery related websites could give me a link to our homepage it would be greatly appreciated.
A link like this would be best
UPHOLSTERY MAGAZINE copy and paste in the html on your page.  www.upholster.com this is the url it will go to

or anything with "upholstery" in it. Like upholstery instruction, tools, discussion board, supplies, books, videos, dvds etc. and maybe some thoughts about our site by the link. (a line or 2).
If you would like one of our videos for your trouble send me the URL of the link you created along with your name, address and phone number. Pick one from here: www.upholster.com/vue
ps Our upholstery discussion board has been online since 1997!
Hi Folks
It would help me promote this website if you would please click here www.facebook.com/upholster.upholstery and click "LIKE" for our new UPHOLSTER Facebook business page-Ken
The Business Of Upholstery / Facebook problem
October 04, 2011, 07:22:43 pm
Hi Folks
I'm trying to make a Facebook webpage for this site UPHOLSTER.COM
When people search for upholstery info I want them to first see a page that looks like the top of this one with the plaid logo and buttons instead of the Facebook WALL page. I can't tell if the page I want comes up or not since Facebook sends me to the WALL page every time. Could someone or two do a search on FAcebook for Upholster Magazine and tell me what you get first?
I've also tried all kinds of Facebook code to get a LIKE button below the plaid buttons but can't get any  to display. There is a text Like to the left of the page if you care to click that.

It took longer for the forum to get transferred than expected. All posts since Tuesday morning have entered the Twilight Zone. It may take a few days for me to get the structure back like it was but at least the rest of the data survived.
General Discussion / leather buttons

Any ideas on how to get buttons to come out looking good when made in leather?
#30s-a customer of mine is having trouble. I remember pounding out some heavy vinyls and leathers to get them thinner.

Please do not click on links within the spam topics. They make money when you do and come back to post again. Bobby or I have to open each spam topic and delete them one at a time. The most recent ones are coming out of Russia.
