Thanks for the helpful advice guys.
A customer gave me this chair to reupholster for her, but she does not want any tufting on the inside back and seat. She wants those areas to be smooth, nothing fancy. Can someone please give me some advice on rebuilding this chair. Click on the link below to view the chair:

Thanks in advance!
I have the walking foot and the straight stitch sewing and both of them are well worth it. I've had them both going on 6 years and I haven't had one problem out of them.
Will the Salco F15/7116 Electric Tacker #7 3/8" Crown work for furniture upholstery? I owned the Maestri ME 3G, but it no longer works. I'm trying to decide which one would be the best, I prefer electric staple guns. Both of these staple guns are available on this forum. Thanks in advance for any helpful advice.

I am currently recovering an antique sofa and chairs, I would like to know how do you go by applying double welt to furniture? Do you use staples or glue when applying double welt and what is the technique for application?

I am covering a sofa that needs gimp applied to it. I already purchased a heated glue gun. Can someone please give me some directions on applying this gimp without getting glue all on the fabric.
